Hyundai Elite i20 - Best in Hatchback segment

Likes:  All-rounded package in a sharp design. Improved over the 1st-gen i20 in nearly every way. Spacious interiors with outstanding quality, fit and finish. Practical 285-liter boot too. 1.4L diesel has excellent driveability, refinement, performance & fuel economy. The 6-speed gearbox is smooth.Mature suspension offers a comfortable ride and neutral handling characteristics. Hyundai's fuss-free ownership experience & excellent after-sales-service. Loaded with features & gizmos (16" rims, keyless entry & go, 8-speaker stereo, rake & reach steering, rear air-con, reversing cam, cooled glovebox and lots more) Dislikes: Missing equipment vis-a-vis old i20: Rear disc brakes, side & curtain airbags, sunroof, auto-wipers & DRLs ? Anyone over 5'11" will find rear headroom to be insufficient. Sloping roof eats into cabin height at the back. The on-road price difference between the petrol & diesel is ~1.3 lakhs. That's higher than the competition. Rear wiper only on the top Asta trim! No fuel-efficiency indicator, auto-locking doors or height-adjustable seatbelts on any variant. Exterior-This is a matter of personal opinion but I have not seen anyone complaining about its looks. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) It's really a feature-rich cabin, quality is top notch at this price point, space is decent enough for 5 adult occupants on long drives. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy, and Gearbox In the city level this engine is the best option available there. though some may say it suffers from the underpowered engine it's not the case. drive it with the appropriate gear ratio this engine will put a smile on ur face. as far as highways this engine projects a linear power delivery up to triple digit speeds. If u want some excitement then u got to maintain the gear shift. gearbox has sharp throw to it may not be as butter smooth as some of its rivals but still, it can hold out well. Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is really amazing. Even though at high speeds u can feel a little body roll. but this one is after all tuned for comfort not for a sporty drive. NVH levels are low inside the cabin. seat cushions are very well designed and provide enough thigh support for those long drives. Final Words- Well as for as i am concerned this is a real quality product from Hyundai. u have to spend a few extra bucks on that petrol but it worth it after it's the only premium hatch that gives u a level of stand out features. Areas of improvement The media display for rear view camera can be improved slightly. providing HIDS. I am completely satisfied with my Car performance and after sales service from Hyundai. I get notification of every service prior to the time and cost of service is always lesser than the expectation. Drove 25000 KMs in 1.5 years and mostly on hilly areas and on long trips and it has a trustworthy companion always. It's the best car in the segment and I strongly recommend i20 over other options like Baleno, Swift, and Polo.
