Volkswagen India Private Limited rolled out Passat in India in 2007 and since then they have never looked back. This is a large family car and has been launched globally in many countries. This is highly reliable and durable car which has a lot to offer in terms of safety as well as in comfort areas. A big powerful 2.0L engine produces a lot of horsepower and has a greater efficiency than the earlier Passat models. It is very eco friendly as it has very low CO2 emission. This has a manual transmission and good braking as well as handling too . Apart from the standard features many unique features are also installed such as high quality audio system, blue motion technologies and many other things.

Volkswagen Passat Diesel Trendline is available in mainly 5 colors whose names are Oak Brown, Light Brown, Deep Black, Reflex Silver and Candy White. This car stands tall with a height of 1470mm and it has length and breath as 4769mm X 1820mm respectively. The kerb weight and gross vehicle weight comes out to be 1555kg and 2180kg. Also there is some storage under the front armrest. Windshield glass has been acoustic laminated. The “Vienna” leather upholstery looks very beautiful and gives a unique look. Some other notable features are rear Ac vents, analog watch on dashboard, cup holders, auto dimming interior mirror, multi function display plus etc. The “Iridium printed” decorative inserts has been used for dashboard and doors which leaves quite an impression. Engine and Performance
Volkswagen Passat Diesel Trendline has one of the most advanced TDI engine . It is a 4 cylinder common rail diesel engine . It can run scarily fast with acceleration of 0 -100kmph in under 12 seconds and with the top speed of 185kmph . The maximum power output it can generate is equal to 167.5bhp at the rate of 4200rpm which is a lot of power to handle; also the maximum torque is close to 350Nm in the range between 1750 – 2500 rpm. The engine displacement of this car is close to 1968cc. One will always get a feeling of pulse racing car. Plus the six speed manual transmission has a smooth shifting system. But the most distinguishing feature of this car is that it offers two overdrive ratios on 5th and 6th gears for greater fuel efficiency and optimized emissions. Also the new Volkswagen Passat Diesel Trendline incorporates blue motion technologies which is optimized for gear ratios, auto start stop, prevents energy loss while gear shifting and brake energy recuperation. Volkswagen has also done the engine encapsulation which limits the engine noise to a very low level and therefore it never affects the silence inside the car. This in turn produces a smooth and vibration free ride.
Braking and Handling
The front and the rear brakes both are disc brakes which perform quite well with the rack and pinion type steering wheel which is obviously power steering . The front suspension comprises of Mc Pherson struts which also have lower triangulation links and the rear suspension comes with a torsion stabilizer. The set of 4 16inch “Perugia” alloy wheels of the tyre type 215/55 R16 makes a good minimum ground clearance of 150mm, while the minimum turning radius is of about 5.35m.
Safety Features
There are numerous safety and security features installed and equipped in the all new Volkswagen Passat Diesel Trendline. To start off, there is ABS along with ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) which also has a brake assist, ASR, EDL and TCS. Front airbags and side airbags for front passenger and driver are also provided for extra protection. For the rear passengers there is a curtain airbag system. Some other things such as attention assist, ISOFIX points (mounting fixture for two child seats), and electronic vehicle immobilization device are also installed. An anti theft protection is equipped with wheel locks and there is an engine guard as well as transmission guard.
