How is the performance of Honda CR-V?
New Honda CR-V is built on a completely new platform but it retains the same 2.4-litre DOHC i-VTEC and 2.0-litre SOHC i-VTEC engines. However, both the engines have been re-tuned and now generate more power; the smaller engine 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine is available with 6-speed manual and 5-speed CVT transmission and generates 154bhp of maximum power. The engine has retained the rev happy nature and you will love to push this engine hard, 6-speed manual gear box is in sync with the engine and there is no gear lag. You can feel the power right from the start and the top-end punch is impressive. Suspension is precisely tuned thus the car absorb all the pot holes on slow speeds and feel planted and stable on higher speeds.
The 2.4-litre engine is also generates more power now, it churns out a maximum of 187bhp. The 5-speed automatic CVT transmission is good but in this price range, an advanced gear box would be welcomed. The engine is powerful and refined but those who has driven the old CR-V will miss the top-end punch and at some extent the rev-free nature of Honda motors. All in all the new CR-V is a nice package and a good performer.
