Celerio 2014-2017 VXI ವಿಮರ್ಶೆ
One of the much talked about vehicles, Maruti Celerio hatchback has finally made its entry to the Indian automobile market with the K-series petrol engine under its hood. This is the newest member in the fleet of Maruti Cars India Limited and it is placed in the economical hatchback segment. The Maruti Celerio VXi is one of the mid level variant in its model portfolio and it is being assembled with a K-Series, 3-cylinder based 1.0-litre petrol engine. The company is offering this particular trim with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox option, which will allow the vehicle to produce an impressive 23.1 Kmpl, when driven under standard conditions. This latest hatch comes with a stylish body structure equipped with trendy cosmetics such as chrome radiator grille, body colored bumpers and so on. The company has managed to give a futuristic look to its front facade with some trendy styling. The insides come with a decent cabin space and comfortable seating arrangement along with a futuristic design, thanks to the dual color dashboard that gives a fresh new look to the cabin. Despite being a mid level variant in this model series, this particular trim comes with features including co-driver vanity mirror, manually adjustable outside mirrors, power windows and many other important functions.
Exteriors:
This latest hatch in the MSIL portfolio is perhaps one of the most good looking vehicle that the company has ever produced. This hatch has a pretty decent rear and side profile, while the front profile has a lot of aggressive and rugged cues unlike any other entry. To begin with the rear end, it comes with a decently crafted taillight cluster that comes equipped with a bright set of tail lamps, turn indicator and courtesy lights. The rear bumper is painted with body color and it hosts the license plate. The company badging, logo and the model insignia have been garnished with chrome and it brings a distinct look to the rear end. Coming to the sides, the well designed wheel arches have been fitted with a set of 14-inch steel wheels that are equipped with tubeless radial tyres and are covered with full wheel covers. The door handles along with the external rear view mirrors have been garnished with black color, which gives it subtle look. Coming to the frontage, this small car comes with a boldly designed headlight cluster that houses a powerful halogen lamp along with turn indicators. This cluster surrounds a wide and aggressive radiator grille that comes fitted with two horizontally positioned chrome slats and the company logo fitted in the center. The front bumper is painted with body color and it is designed with a broad air dam that helps in cooling the engine.
Interiors:
The manufacturer used a lot of plastic inside the cabin, but the dual tone color scheme gives it a plush ambiance. The cockpit is fitted with a two-layer dashboard with upper part painted in black and the lower part with beige color scheme. The central console of this dash comes equipped with aspects like a manual AC unit with heater, a bright instrument cluster and several control switches. The urethane based steering wheel has three spokes and it is elegantly decorated with the company logo in the center. The cockpit is further fitted with comfortable seats with integrated headrests and they are covered with good quality fabric upholstery. The company has equipped this particular trim with some important features such as a vanity mirror in the sun visor for the front co-passenger, driver side sun visor with ticket holder, interior rear view mirror , assist grips, floor carpets, bottle and cup holders, glove box and so on.
Engine and Performance:
Powering this mid level variant is the 1.0-litre, K-Series petrol motor that comes with a displacement capacity of 998CC . This engine has been designed with three cylinders that has 12 valves and comes incorporated with a MPFI fuel injection system that enables it to produce 67bhp of peak power at 6000rpm, while yielding a maximum 90Nm of peak torque at 3500rpm. This torque output is transmitted to the front wheels via an advanced five speed manual transmission gearbox. The car maker claims that this newest hatchback has the ability to produce an impressive mileage figure of 23.1 Kmpl, when driven under standard conditions.
Braking and Handling:
The suspension mechanism of any vehicle is the most important aspect as it determines the stability and driving dynamics of the vehicle. The company has fitted the front axle of this trim with a McPherson Strut type of system , while assembling the rear axle with a coupled torsion beam type of a mechanism. In a bid to reinforce the suspension mechanism, the company has assembled coil springs to both the axles that enables it to take all the jerks caused on the roads. On the other hand, its electric power assisted steering system offers an instantaneous response and makes it easy to maneuver in city traffic. Not to forget that the front ventilated disc brakes and the rear durm brakes collaborates together and ensures precise braking at all times.
Comfort Features:
When it comes to the comfort and convenience, the Maruti Celerio VXi trim comes with a set of decent features. The list includes a power steering system, power windows with driver side auto down function, a manually operated AC unit with heater , roof antenna, central door lock, fuel lid opener, internally adjustable outside mirrors and many other important aspects. Also, this latest trim comes equipped with an advanced instrument cluster that features an information display for digital clock, fuel consumption display and distance to empty indicator. Apart from these, you can also find functions including low fuel warning, door ajar warning, key off reminder and number of other such features.
Safety Features:
The newly introduced Maruti Celerio VXi trim comes with very limited yet very important safety features. The company equipped this mid level variant with an advanced engine immobilizer system that restricts unauthorized persons to gain access to the car. Also the company is offering headlight leveling and high mount stop lamps, which will add to the road safety, especially during night times. Apart from these, the company is offering this mid level variant with seat belts, child proof rear door locks, front wiper with intermittent function , front washer and other advanced features.
Pros: Price is affordable, performance and mileage is decent.
Cons: Not so attractive comfort features, cabin space can be made better.

- Grievance regarding performance of maruti suzuki celerio AmtThe above-mentioned car was delivered to me through sai service in Aug 2014. Ever since this car is in operation, on a number of occasions, defective things were noticed and due to that, we experience difficulties in getting a day to day service. This car is just 2 and a half-year-old and has completed just 15000 kilometers and also vehicle has been serviced regularly at authorized Service Station (Sai Service Pvt. Ltd) as prescribed in the owner's manual. This car is used only as a family car and being run on good condition roads in the city area. From last one month, the car starts jerking while shifting gears and making some unusual noise from engine compartment. At this stage now the car is with the authorized dealer (Sai Service Pvt. Ltd. Virar west) for a couple of weeks and it seems that the dealer until now has not been able to detect the fault and put the vehicle on the road smoothly. They already replaced many parts from the transmission but engine noise problem remains as it is. The dealer now suggests that engine will be required to be open to see if the fault can be overcome. At the moment my vehicle is under extended warranty even though on opening the engine and transmission certain parts not covered under the warranty, will be charged me as the dealer said. This will become a financial liability to me even when my vehicle is used very less and with extensive care. Further beyond warranty period if this is going to be the same scenario it ultimately resulting in a big financial liability in the time to come for me. By all these means it seems that vehicle is brought out having manufacturing defects. - Maruti Suzuki Celerio CNG : Economical HatchbackI had purchased my vehicle in End week of October 2015 and after a long time that is nearly 14 months I am writing this honest review on this Maruti Celerio CNG. Believe me that by reaching the end of this article you will have no further query left about this car. As before this Car I was using Maruti A-star, which was in petrol version, and I had exchanged my old A-star for this new Celerio CNG. For your notice I would like to say that CNG kit in this car is fitted by Maruti Suzuki (same as we had already seen in Alto or WagonR). This CNG model comes in VXI Manual Transmission only. This VXI CNG model is missing company fitted stereo, Fog Lights and some basic accessories for which you have to go to outside dealers. Firstly I would talk about price, so the on-road price of this car is Rupees 5,45,000 approx. And as you know that this car is missing with company fitted accessories so I bought accessories for the car from the dealer itself (which is DD Motor, Peeragarhi, New Delhi). In accessories I had purchased One touchscreen Infotainment display of Sony model no. XAV 68BT (Rupees 18,000), and 4 Sony speakers (Rupees 2,000 for full set of four), 1 Pair of Fog Lights (Rupees 3,200), and One Reverse Parking Camera 'without sensors' (Rupees 4,000). Now I would surely like to share about my experience regarding accessories, firstly if you want to buy Sony touchscreen infotainment system then I would not recommend you because it can't be able to run Full HD videos and the video formats supported by it is very limited. Secondly if you want a reverse parking camera then I would like to say that you should buy both that is camera as well as sensors because it makes me very difficult to park at tight places due to absence of distance judging sensors. So at last of this para I would like to calculate the full price of the car which is 5,45,000 + 18,000 + 2,000 + 3,200 + 4,000 = Rupees 5,72,200. Now come on looks, yes you are thinking right that looks differs from person to person, but in my opinion it looks good (that's why I bought it). No doubt that this car look compact from outside but I really get amazed when I saw its cabin, truly saying its very much spacious from inside. The seats of this car is average in terms of comfortable because seats are very thin as compared to Swift or some Ford or VW car's seat. The dashboard quality is quiet impressive and is far better than Alto or WagonR's dashboard. The odometer & tachometer is also improved, and the beautiful thing in that is that it shows the Level of CNG remaining (CNG Gauge) same as Petrol Gauge in that meter. This car is ideal for four persons to sit in but five persons can also sit comfortably if they are not fatty. Now when I opened the boot, you will not believe, I really get surprised by seeing that awesome engineering done in the fitting of CNG cylinder and the position of spare tyre which is made very much easy to access as compared to WagonR CNG model. Though the boot containing a large 9Kg CNG cylinder but don't worry it's not too much tight as you can also place your light luggage like travelling bags, office bags etc. in it. Now it's time to come under the hood, it's having a 1.0 litre engine which generates a power of 58 bhp with 78 N-m torque. Now it's time to discuss the favourite part of our middle class family that is mileage and maintenance. As I am driving it from last 14 months and having a full experience of driving in city jams like Delhi as well as I had also driven it on National Highways and Yamuna Expressway and had taken up 3 Services of the car at Maruti Centre. So the real data based on experience is following : 1. Mileage in city (CNG Mode) : 25 Km/Kg 2. Mileage in city (Petrol Mode) : 17 Km/L 3. Mileage on Highway (CNG Mode) : 30 Km/Kg 4. Mileage on Highway (Petrol Mode) : 21 Km/L 5. Mileage on Expressways (CNG Mode) : 34 Km/Kg 6. Mileage on Expressways (Petrol Mode) : 23 Km/L Now the last term which is maintenance. As I had serviced it after running 10,000 Km (apart from those service which is done initially after one and six month), so after running 10,000 Km, I paid a total amount of Rupees 4,900 which is nearly Rupees 5,000. The service cost of CNG car is nearly Rupees 2,000 more than the Petrol version because it uses Synthetic Engine oil.So you can roughly calculate that for maintenance it is nearly Rupees 5000 per 10,000 Km. At last in conclusion I would like to say that if you are a city driver and want to enjoy little highway trips on weekend then this car is really for you due to its low running cost. It's really very economical as compared to petrol cars and made for those who use car on daily basis and a frequent traveler in cities. - Celerio- Best car for daily use...ExcellentI use celerio in automatic after my learning of cars, & i can proudly say, this is a best car for daily use. Driving comfort for a new learner & lady is good, easy to drive & small & attractive look of this car, make anyone lover of this. I use red colour celerio, which is very good looking. Celerio is a hatchback small car which means you can easily fit your car anywhere while you lives in metro cities, very crowded place,very easy parking & small place is require to fix your car anywhere.The city mileage of around 15 kmpl, almost no-maintenance and good ride quality make it a perfect daily commuter. However, the positioning of lock is very odd. In terms of design and styling, the new Celerio is definitely a step ahead. However, its narrow and tall body-built gives it a boxy feel.It's a decent performer on city roads, but we would suggest people not to buy it for highway cruise don't expect much in terms of features or gizmos. The interiors feature a heavy use of hard plastics. The glove-box isn't one of the neatest around and uses some pretty basic mechanisms.
