This is the for the first time that Toyota has introduced petrol option for the Fortuner . It gets the 2.7 Litre petrol engine from innova with the both manual as well as automatic rear wheel drive option and the 2.8 litre turbo diesel has also been sourced from the Innova and develops 174bhp of power. What makes it different ?..... A big question .... the first thing to be noticed is obviously the new stylish perky looks of Fortuner which now adds a new feel of style as compared to the old Fortuner which has rounded of corners . New Fortuner I must say is sharply styled SUV . Fortuner has been designed with really high bumper lines to protect the car from any damage while bumpy rides. Beautiful Led running lights and a very prominent feature is the chrome bracketing done all over the car and the beautiful cut tail lamps compliment the attractive sides perfectly, The Fortuner is all new car but Toyota has chosen to go with a near identical wheel bass of 2,745mm but this new SUV is longer wider then the old one, which puts this new car at an advantage when it comes to cabin space and comfort as the cabin feels much aerier now , front seats happen to be much more comfortable perfect for large frames they offer great shoulder as well as thigh support the back seats also offer plenty of knee room. and the last row if combined Toyota can be called a true seven seater as it also offers the adjustment of back seats we can incline or decline the seats accordingly i must say a fair job all the rows come with their dedicated Ac vents and cup holders fairly done interiors with a add of leather to the instrument panel with two glove boxes. there' s even a bit of usable space at the back for luggage with all the three rows up the nicely done steering wheel also adds up to the upmarket feel new fortuner has been redesigned with a completely new stiffer chassis now the suspension has been redesigned. This time the Fortuner comes with ladder on frame and not a monocoque which means better stability and a better balance the automatic gear box is not sluggish but is slow typical Toyota style has long ratios .The petrol as compared to the diesel variant is much more quieter and very refined .the 4X4 is only offered with the diesel variants and petrol has to offer 4x2 on it. Safety features are all standard 7 airbags ABS anti locking brakes , stability control the auto version also comes with the hill hold function , the off road drive has been improved a lot due to newly built suspension if i conclude it can be said a good buy but not a decent buy under this price tag because of the other cars which come under same price tag and offer lot more features and are technically strong cars like Mitsubishi Pajero so Toyota could have done better with the features inside if asking for this price tag but all in all car is is good looking stylish shape and with newly designed interiors and exteriors and new frame .
