Who said first class airline experience is reserved for the air?

One should dream big, they say. Imagine you get super rich one day or you become a millionaire/billionaire over the course of time (you never know). Even if that doesn't happen, you can still dream. So here are 10 luxury cars that should be on your bucket list. To keep this list practical, we’ve decided to include only those cars that you can buy in India. Here you go:

Obviously, the Phantom tops the list here. There’s nothing as majestic as the Rolls-Royce Phantom to announce your arrival. The eighth-generation version packs in an aluminium space frame chassis married to a 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 (565PS and 900 Nm of peak torque) and a freakishly quiet cabin that is more luxurious than the Buckingham Palace. Finest leather in the world, Phantom’s starlight headliner,  and champagne cooler are some of the highlights. Cons? It costs a whopping Rs 9.5 crore for standard wheelbase and Rs 11.35 crore for the long wheelbase version.

Don’t fancy the Rolls? Bentley has got you covered with the near-Rs-10-crore Mulsanne. You can opt for the standard or extended wheelbase version powered by a 6.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that is good enough for 512PS and 1020Nm of twist. We could try and list out some of the otherworldly features but we wouldn't even scratch the surface. So let it be. But get this, if the Phantom is equivalent to the Buckingham palace, the Mulsanne is definitely the Windsor castle on wheels.

The Cullinan is one luxury SUV that should rank high on your list. That said, it is not to everyone’s taste. There is no escaping the fact that it looks weird and unproportionate. If you can get over that, it is the epitome of luxury SUVs with enough bells and whistles; and a 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 that punches out 600PS and a healthy 900Nm. What makes the Rolls’ first SUV special is its magic carpet ride, exquisite interiors along with an all wheel drive setup. Oh and the Cullinan Black Badge just happens to be the darkest version out there.

Do you think the Mulsanne is a bit overpriced or out of reach? Well, the Flying Spur does everything its bigger brother does at half the cost. It is also faster and packs a W12 that churns out 643PS and 900Nm of torque. Zero to 100kmph is a matter of 3.8 seconds. To move 2.5 tonnes, Bentley has also incorporated four wheel steering for the first time in the Flying Spur. What else do you get? Quilted leather, plenty of wood, and a handcrafted cabin that shouts opulence.

Bentley’s answer to the not so pretty Cullinan is the Bentayga. Actually, it is the other way around as the Bentayga came out first. Once again, the Bentley should be your choice for sheer speed as it puts out 608PS and 813Nm! This also translates to a top whack of 302kmph and a 0-100kmph sprint time of 4.1 seconds. That is one fast luxury SUV. Bentley has also thrown in an air suspension with continuous damping control with 4 height settings, 10-speaker audio system, sports exhaust, carbon ceramic brakes, panoramic wheels. You also get to choose between 15 interior shade options, alcantara headliner and a plethora of veneer options. And speed isn't the only thing as the Bentayga is also one of the plushest SUVs out there.

Since we are on the topic of fast SUVs, we can’t ignore the Lamborghini Urus. More of a sporty SUV than a luxurious offering, the Urus deserves to be on this list. It is underpinned by the same platform as the Bentayga but the Urus is all about speed. And you can't say no to more speed. A 4.0-litre V8 producing 650PS and 850Nm of torque in conjunction with an 8-speed ZF gearbox helps when you’re in a hurry.  0-100kmph comes up in a supercar-shaming 3.6 seconds while it maxes out at 305kmph. Prices start from around Rs 3 crore in India.

Sitting at the crest of all Mercedes models in India is this luxo barge with a big-capacity V12 under the hood. Highlights include 630PS and 1000Nm of torque mated to a 7G-TRONIC gearbox. Self-levelling airmatic suspension, magic body control, 64 colour option ambient lights, reclining and massaging seats along with champagne flutes are some of the notable kit on offer. All of this comes at a cost, which starts at a leisurely Rs 2.78 crore.

Yes, the big Aston is old now but just look at it! It has to be the best-looking luxury 4-door that money can buy today. And we are including this for all the old-school readers out there. It reeks of old school charm starting with the archaic 6.0-litre naturally aspirated (beat that) engine developing 558PS and 630Nm of torque. Other goodies include an opulent 4-seater cabin, 8-speed Touchtronic III gearbox, a sports exhaust and 3-stage adaptive damping. We don’t know about you but we would definitely buy one just for the way it looks. How much? It starts from a casual Rs 3.29 crore (ex-showroom India).

We bet you never imagined a Volvo would make it to this list. You see, this is no ordinary XC90 that we have here. The XC90 Excellence lounge is a proper 3-seater luxury barge which ditches some of its seats for true business class airline experience. In place of the front passenger seat, you get a 17-inch touchscreen display that can also double up as a footrest. Powering the SUV is a T8 Twin-Engine motor good for 407PS and 640Nm of peak torque. It is relatively cheaper in comparison to other cars in this list at Rs 1.42 crore (ex-showroom). That’s valuable consumer advice right there.

Quite a long name for a long SUV. The Range Rover itself is a big brute but the LWB is for those who prefer that extra room at the back. Couple it with the top-spec SVAutobiography spec and you’ve got yourself a luxurious condo. You most definitely can live in a Range Rover LWB. Two engines on offer: a 4.4-litre diesel and a 5.0-litre V8. And what you get over the standard features are a refrigerator compartment, knurled finish throughout the cabin (stop/start button, driver select rotary shifter, armrest adjusters, foot pedals and the key fob), special trim options and lounge-life sofas for the rear. Finish it in dark shade with chrome delete and you’ve got the perfect mafia-spec SUV.
