Sunny XV CVT ವಿಮರ್ಶೆ

Nissan has only one sedan on sale in India, the Sunny. The only variant that comes with an automatic transmission is the XV CVT (continuously variable transmission). It is one of the most affordable sedans in India that offers a two-pedal setup. The CVT unit comes mated only to a 1.5-litre petrol engine that generates 99PS of power and 134Nm of torque. As compared to its counterpart with manual transmission, which delivers a fuel-economy of 16.95kmpl, the CVT returns 17.5kmpl. That means the automatic gearbox is not only more convenient to drive but also more frugal. The CVT has five modes in its configuration - park, reverse, neutral, drive and low.

The 185/65 section tyres on the Nissan Sunny XV CVT come wrapped around 15-inch alloy wheels. The car gets a 41-litre fuel tank, 490-litre boot and a minimum turning radius of 5.3-metres. Since the CVT is only offered in the top-spec trim, it comes loaded with gadgets. The features which are exclusive to the Sunny XV CVT include a two-din audio system with display, leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather seats, beige seat upholstery, beige and black interior theme, driver armrest and a rear view camera. When compared to its XV diesel counterpart, the XV CVT misses out on features like outside temperature display, two rear reading lamps and fine vision meter.

The Sunny is offered in six different shades of paint - Sandstone Brown, Nightshade, Blade Silver, Onyx Black, Pearl White and Bronze Gray. Sandstone Brown body paint option was added with the launch of the Nissan Sunny facelift, which happened on January 17, 2017.

Price-wise, the Sunny sits between the sub-4 metre and the C-segment sedans in India. Its list of competitors include two variants of the Honda Amaze CVT, Ford Figo Aspire AT and Hyundai Xcent AT.
