The company has launched the latest version of Mahindra Scorpio and has named it as “New Generation Scorpio”. This rugged SUV features new hydroformed chassis along with the same ladder frame. In terms of technicalities, its engine is paired with a new five speed manual transmission gear box, which is much smoother than before. It is available in five variants with two diesel engine options. Among these, Mahindra Scorpio S10 7 Seater is the top end trim in its model series. It is powered by the same 2.2-litre, mHawk diesel power plant that has a displacement capacity of 2179cc. The manufacturer has modified its exteriors as well as interiors for attracting the buyers. It is designed with an aggressive frontage, which includes new headlight cluster with projector headlamps, revamped body colored bumper and a bold radiator grille with a few body colored slats. It also has a new set of alloy wheels that gives the side profile a classy look. This motor can churn out a maximum power output of 120bhp at 4000rpm and 280Nm of peak torque between 1800 to 2800rpm. It is incorporated with a common rail based direct injection fuel supply system that has the ability to deliver a maximum mileage of 15.4 Kmpl on the highways. At the same time, it can produce 12.5 Kmpl in the city traffic conditions. Braking and Handling:
This variant has a rack and pinion based steering wheel, which is tilt adjustable and makes handling effortless. Its front wheels are equipped with a set of caliper type ventilated disc brakes, while the rear wheels get drum brakes. This braking mechanism is augmented by anti lock braking system .
