Jimny Story

Hello All, I am first time buyer of any car and i choose Jimny. I was looking for a vehicle which can do both off road and on road drive without any problem. and with my stretched budget i looked for jimny. I know about it's legacy and also know that its totally reliable. Being a off road enthusiast its full filling my needs. Now let me share my performance based experience 1. Steering - No vibrations on road on steering wheel, Light vibrations on stones and moderate off road. Feels like the old gypsy on off road and smooth like swift on road. Steering stock height and position is comfortable if you are upto 6feet. Overall it will work fine on every road conditions. 2. Engine Performance - Engine is bit small and less powered if i compare it with thar and gurkha but as a petrol engine it works fine on cold start and deliver good acceleration when needed. you'll not be bumping back in your seats with its acceleration but it will surely generate good adrenaline. Overall according to its size and suspension abilities the engine feels sufficient. 3. Drive train / Gearbox - As far as i understood this vehicle, it gives good gear shifting response and feels smooth while shifting, Even though you are new to off roads and SUV's it still make you feel like a smooth hatchback. shaky gear leaver will not let you forget our beloved gypsy , qualis and sumo. but i enjoyed that so its personal feel if you are fine with that or not. 4. Suspension - This is the greatest thing i felt the jimny have. Smooth suspensions, as well as will make you feel confident on every single off road obstacles. articulation is also fine so it will give you freedom to challenge your capabilities as driver. easy to drive on bumpy roads and you can easily go over 60kmph on those sand and granular roads without feeling like the same. Tyres- Please change to A/T tyres asap, Stock tyres will gonna be stuck in moderate muddy roads as well. Mileage - totally depends on your driving style but still there is a limit - i got ruffly 16 to 17kmpl on highways and 12 to 12.5 in city with freestyle driving. this is my jimny story.
